In late 2007, the editorial staff at SearchEnterpriseLinux.com invited vendors and users to nominate their choices for the best virtualization products of 2007.
To be eligible for consideration, products had to have been shipped between October 31, 2006 and November 1, 2007. The categories included:
- Linux Server Distribution
- Linux Administration Tools
- Security applications/tools on the server
- Virtualization for Linux servers
SearchEnterpriseLinux.com's independent experts judged the entries based on the following criteria:
- Innovation
- Performance
- Ease of use and manageability
- Ease of integration into environment
- Functionality
- Value
Judges based their decisions on the information provided in forms submitted by those nominating respective products; and on their own independent research.
