Security applications/Tools on the server

GOLD AWARD: DirectControl 4
When it comes to access control and centralized identity management, Centrify Corp.'s DirectControl 4 is our Gold winner in the Security Applications/Tools on the Server Products of the Year category. Like it or not, many Linux admins need better ways to integrate with a Microsoft Active Directory (AD) environment, and the Centrify tools are best of breed. DirectControl secures systems using authentication, authorization and Group Policy services through Microsoft Active Directory, turning any Linux, Unix, Mac or non-Microsoft Web or database platform system into an AD client.
The DirectControl Management Tools include extensions to standard Microsoft management tools, an administration console, out-of-the-box reporting, and an account migration wizard. The browser-based administrator console is designed to meet the separation of duties mandated by regulations and delegates administration with no additional setup. Additional modules provide services such as Web and database single sign-on and Samba integration.
DirectControl offers a fine-grained, centralized control for diverse network environments. This nonobtrusive management system offers the ability to assign computers and users to logical groups, or zones, and to allow an admin to control, see and report on which users can access which systems.
Pricing: Workstation agent, $60; management console, $1,000; server administrator license, $350 to $1,000 for unlimited server access (for admins, all users).
